Pacific Coast Sky Diving San Diego, CA June 6, 2006
Posted by stuffvideo in Hungsta.1 comment so far
I'm working on a page that shows off my sky diving at Pacific Coast Sky Diving.
I wore my GPS unit that monitored my altitude, speed, and vitals. Garmin, possibly, wants to use my page to show off on their website. So I have to make this page really good.
I am also in the process of making contact with a water skiing group. I want to hang out with their group, take pics and vids, and network with them.
That is all.

Content Writer and update for StuffVideo.com May 20, 2006

I just worked out a deal with a Brenda Stokes to write articles for StuffVideo.com. The deal just involves compensating her a flat fee for each words she writes for an article. Brenda Stokes has wriiten for many respectable online publications and is dependable since she gets back to me promptly whenever I ask for anything.
I removed all the deadlinks (finally!) from stuffvideo.com. We receive about 30 unique hits a day, so it's a good idea to keep the website clean.
I received my Forerunner 305 today and will put it to a test later this afternoon.
I have visitors from out of town this weekend and next so I won't be able to put in my hours until May 30th, 2006.
I am going to be putting up the pages for Kayaking this week (this is a big summertime thing for San Diego and needs to be done ASAP) if time permits (when the visitors are sleeping hehe)

- Lap Memory: 1,000 laps
- Battery: Rechargeable internal lithium ion
- Battery Life: 10 hours (typical use)
- Waterproof: IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 mins.)
- Alerts: Time, distance, pace and heart rate
- Heart rate monitor features:

This device will be instrumental to the development of stuffvideo's biking/hiking/jogging pages. It can map out any workout in a easy to understand graphical figure. Below is an example (sorry for the small image):

Programming progress May 7, 2006

I programmed the pages where you can add and view comments. I used ajax for both of the pages for quicker user response. I even got the cool flashing thingy that wordpress has after you submit a post.
I'm still touching up the look and feel of the pages, but I think both pages work well programmatically. The only page where you can leave a comment on is the sunset cliffs sight seeing page. Once I get the look and feel down for the comment pages, I'll have all the pages be comment ready.
I added a privacy statement page and force the user to accept the privacy before registering.
All in all, I'm kind of tired of programming. Programming database applications with AJAX takes longer than without. Normally, I can get these two pages done in an hour without AJAX. With AJAX, it took me a good four hours since debugging AJAX is really difficult since you can't really see what's happening on the server side without programming some sort of debug message logger. I'm too lazy to do that. I think I will work on some videos next for a bit because I think I'm burning out.
I'm out.
Comment on Happy Hours May 3, 2006

Sean, that’s an excellent idea. However, in my opinion, I think we should focus on our original plan and set the outdoors activities as the main priority. We had a discussion about this before and we made an agreement that this is our plan (my fault if I we didn’t make it clear to each other). There are many sites out there that already provide happy hours and deals. One day, after we get our defined priorities done, we can work on the restaurant and happy hour reviews.
Priorities
1) Outdoor activities which includes attractions since it’s mainly outdoors. Data entry and videos.
2) Programming the site and doing the program flow for user interaction
4) Continuous data entry which will include restaurants and happy hours once the first launch has occurred.
I’m programming right now for the site. I plan to go out this weekend and capture some video on site seeing somewhere in San Diego and create the pages.

Sorry but I haven't had much time to get any work done. We barely got Internet connection at our new place. I was thinking about adding a section that show all the happy hours in SD. I think people would use it for after work events and good deals for free food and cheap drinks. What do you guys think?
